Our client requires an experienced 3rd line Core Network Engineer with strong VOIP skills to work on this key core network migration project. This contract is office based so you must be commutable to Hatfield in Hertfordshire.

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • Responsible for providing technical leadership to drive service restoration in the event of outages, including any remedial actions
  • Responsible for performing and managing change activities in live and model networks to agreed timescales in a Right First Time manner
  • Responsible for driving operational excellence and transformational programmes
  • Responsible for driving improvements that contribute to Service Availability targets being exceeded

  • Build relationships with a range of stakeholders, engaging with customers, suppliers and peers to update on progress and resolve issues
  • Own the diagnoses and resolution of network issues ensuring an adherence to profession and/or safety standards to minimise the impact to customer service improving delivery of benefits for customers
  • Applies technical expertise to ensure solution integrity, operational excellence and quality of third party inputs
  • Owns the identification and implementation of improvements to ways of working

 

Skills Required:

 

  • To multi-task between projects and providing customer facing support for all the companies client that have been provided converged communication services
  • Provide hands-on engineering support of the existing network infrastructure and technologies
  • Participate in on-call rotation for escalation support of technical issues, supporting the 24x7 production network environment
  • Troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation
  • Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
  • Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis
  • Handling Network Operations Centre (NOC) trouble ticket escalation and follow up
  • Provide necessary support to Field operations for installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of cellular and SIP equipment
  • To maintain, test and monitor the core virtual PBX, IMS + ancillary systems
  • To manage, operate and take accountability for continued VoIP operations and maintenance including as needed applying patches, updates, to ensure critical bugs or security issues addressed in a timely manner
  • Tier 3 support for the Virtual PBX for Tier 1 & 2 teams
  • Tier 3 support for the Call recording platform for Tier 1 & 2 teams
  • Support for deployment of variety of hardware and software-based Session Initiation (SIP) Clients SIP clients
  • Experience in virtualized data centres
  • Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP) a plus
  • Experience with one of the following vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Huawei, Juniper)
